PADDLE | July 11th Birds of Upper Klamath Lake
Bring your binoculars for a great day of birding and light paddling in a sheltered area at the base of Upper Klamath Lake. We’ll rent lake kayaks from Birding & Boating guides Jim & Stephanie Carpenter and learn more about water issues of the Upper Klamath basin.
Bring: Lunch, sturdy walking shoes, sun protection, binoculars. Bring $25 for a half-day kayak rental, or your own canoe or kayak.
Directions: Meet at Ashland Shop-n-Kart at 9:00 am, meet at Birding & Boating headquarters in Klamath Falls at 10:30 am (map and directions on their website).

PADDLE | July 25th Kayak Lake Ewauna
Explore the shore where the Klamath River borders the city of Klamath Falls. A key area for birds and wildlife, Lake Ewauna is also a prime location for restoration in the Upper Klamath basin. This informational tour will cover basics of Klamath River water quality issues as well as innovative plans to revitalize Lake Ewauna as the gateway to Klamath Falls. We’ll rent lake kayaks from local guides Jim & Stephanie Carpenter of Birding & Boating.

FLOAT | August 8th Boating the Klamath - Tree of Heaven
Join KRK staff and local river enthusiasts for a light, on-the-water intro to Klamath ecology and politics. This mellow stretch (II) is accessible from I-5 and passes through a semi-arid canyon reach before opening into the green forests of the mid-Klamath River. Register early to ensure a spot on our rafts, or bring your own boat!
Bring: Lunch, appropriate clothing and sun protection for a day on the water. Experienced boaters can bring their own boats, we have a limited number of spaces on our rafts.
Directions: Meet at Ashland Shop-n-Kart at 9:00 am, meet at the Collier Rest Area on Interstate 5 2.5 miles North of the HWY 96 turn off.
